About the Class


Official Course Description:
Overview of e-commerce technologies and applications such as EDI, XML, JAVA, middleware, firewalls, encryption, payment systems, database integration, shopping-cart applications, cookies, transaction analysis, and application service providers. Programming experience recommended.

What You’ll Actually Be Learning:
This class is in-depth, technical look at creating database driven websites with an eye towards E-commerce applications. You’ll be how to take simple XHTML/CSS web pages and turn them into a functioning, useful application. We’ll also spend time looking at a variety of topics that surround web application development – things like security certificates, payment gateways, and web analytic software.

Learning Objectives:
Basic working knowledge of the structure and function of database driven web applications
Basic knowledge of advanced web application topics
“Enough to be dangerous” with ASP.NET programming
Completing a sizable working content management system
